Last few days i made a simple agar2 dish; agar2 santan. Actually i'm planning to make puding roti but in the end, since i'm out of bread & evaporated milk, i decided to make this agar2. Actually it was too ez & my mom always made it. As far as i can remember, my mom will make this dish for me every year when i was in primary school for end year party (jamuan akhir tahun kt skolah). I was so happy at that time bcoz' my kueh 'sold out' compared to my friends who usually brought biscuits (biskut kering yg biasa org jual kt kedai2 runcit).At that time,i felt my mom is the best. Until now,my mom will make it during hari raya. & the truth is i never know how to make it as everytime she made it, either i was away or still sleeping...actually i'm 'malas'....
But since noiw i'm married & have to cook for my husband, i've to experiment everything including agar2. Luckily my husband never complaint about my cooking even though he's a better cook than me.I remember when my mom nagged at me 'dulu2 x nak belajar' (b4 this u didn't want to learn).Hahaha... kan dh kena marah...Now my mom was far away,so by hook or by crook, i've to try. Sometimes i called her purposely to ask the recipe. But when i'm lazy to call her (actually i'm a little bit shy to ask her + i don't want to hear her nagging at me), i just try to remember what she put & how she cook.Luckily nowadays, we can get almost all recipes from the internet. Even though i'm shy to admit, i learned agar2 santan recipe from internet & i found a similar recipe from kak liza fp. Thanx kak liza...u've save my day...
Since yesterday, my husband asked me to make that kind of agar2 once again bcoz' he had not enough of it. Last time he helped me stirred the agar2. & as usual, i made it in green colour, the same colour my mom used to make.Usually my mom will used the extract from pandan leave for the green colour + aroma,but i used ready-made food colouring...thanx to star brand..

AGAR-AGAR SANTAN
- Kak Liza -
Bahan
1 peket agar-agar [rendamkan sehingga kembang]
5 cawan air
1 cawan gula merah )i used 2 cups of course sugar to replace
1/2 cawan gula pasir )the brown sugar
2 cawan santan pekat [1 biji kelapa]
2 biji telur ayam
1 helai daun pandan
* Saya masukkan Sedikit pewarna hijau + perasa pandan + garam)
Cara
1. Masakkan agar2 dengan air dan daun pandan sehingga mendideh.
2. Masukkan gula merah dan gula pasir. Biarkan mendideh lagi.
3. Tapiskan agar kedalam periuk lain. Biarkan mendideh lagi.
4. Gaulkan telur dengan santan sehingga sebati. Tapiskan.
5. Masukkan santan dan kacau. Biarkan mendideh sekejap.
6. Angkat adunan dan tuangkan dalam acuan.
7. sejukkan dan potong untuk dihidangkan.
Agar-agar perisa santan pandan

Bahan-bahan ( family )
25 gram agar2 (1 pkt)
1 mug gula pasir (secukup rasa)
2 helai daun pandan
2 biji telur ayam
2 cawan santan pekat
Sedikit pewarna hijau + perisa pandan
Cara-cara
1. Basuh agar2 dan masukkan kedlm periuk yg diletak 6 cwn mug air. (saya guna agar2 biasa bukan yg serbuk..)
2. tunggu sehingga agar2 tadi hancur baru masukkan gula pasir, & daun pandan. (manis ikut citerasa msg2)
3. Masukkan santan & campurkan telur dan pukul hingga sebati.(klu nak lemak lagi leh tambah santan & kurangkan telor)
4. Apabila agar2 yg dlm periuk tadi betul2 dah hancur, baru masukkan campuran santan dan telur tadi.
5. Biarkan smua bahan menggelegak, kacau dan tutup api.
6. Masukkan adunan tadi ke dlm bekas / loyang...
7. Masukkan dlm petisejuk & biarkan sejuk,sedap di makan apabila sejuk.
Agar-agar Santan/Lumut

Bahan-Bahan:
1 paket agar-agar
Air secukupnya
Gula melaka/gula manisan
4 biji telur
santan
sedikit daun pandan (dicuci bersih dan disimpul)
Cara:
Di dalam periuk, satukan air, agar-agar, daun pandan dan gula melaka sehingga hancur. Di dalam bekas lain, pukul telur dengan garfu, masukkan santan dan gaul sebati. Tuang campuran telur dan santan ke dalam periuk. Biar seketika dan padamkan api. Tuang agar-agar ini ke dalam bekas/acuan kegemaran.
Simpan dalam peti sejuk untuk dibekukan.
Cadangan Hidangan:
Enak sebagai pencuci mulut dan juga sebagai kuih untuk berbuka puasa. Manis dan dingin, ah sejuk tekak...Kalau tak ada gula melaka boleh ganti gula biasa, dan guna sedikit perwarna hijau. Jadi la agar-agar lumut.
Agar-Agar Santan[pakai gula melaka]

Bahan-bahannya
- 1 peket agar-agar - direndam biar kembang
- 1 buku gula melaka - cairkan
- 1 atau 2 cawan Gula pasir - ( ikut suka kemanisannya )
- Beberapa ketul gula batu - untuk mengilatkan agar2 kita dan mengenyalkan.
- 1 biji kelapa - kalau boleh santannya biar pekat atau 1 peket santan serbuk pun boleh hendaklah cairkan )
- 2 biji telur ayam - dipukul hingga kembang
- 1 helai Daun pandan
- 8 cawan air - sukatan 8 cawan ni termasuklah santan sekali ( air + santan = 8 )
Cara-caranya :
1. Didihkan air biasa. Masukan agar-agar. Masak sampai agar-agar hancur atau larut.
2. Sementara itu cairkan gula melaka tadi. Tak perlu guna air banyak sangat.
3. Pukul telur hingga kembang dan tuangkan kedalam santan.
4. Apabila agar-agar sudah larut sepenuhnya, bolehlah masukan gula pasir dan gula batu serta gula melaka yang dicairkan tadi. Biarkan mendidih beberapa minit.
5. Tutupkan api. Tapislah agar-agar yang sudah dimasak tadi.
6. Didihkan kembali agar-agar. Masukan santan yang sudah dicampur dengan telur. Biarkan mendidih dan kacau sentiasa.
7. Akhir sekali tuangkan kedalam acuan dan biar agar-agar beku.
8. Apabila beku akan terjadi dua lapisan santan diatas dan yang jernih dibawah.
TIPS: utk mengenyalkan agar-agar supaya agar2 kita jadik berkilat, pejal dan kenyal hendaklah dicampurkan sedikit gula batu...
